Actually I ran the game on dial-up for a little while too. But that was back in June of last year, so there weren't as many people playing. Barring a couple of exceptions, my lag wasn't all that bad. I was back on ADSL by August so I didn't get to experience the x-mas, and then the Factions beta crush, but (at least once) the game was completely playable by dial-up.
